There obviously are mountains of reports, articles, blogs and emails about Steve Jobs. Is there any form of media that hasn't been touched by him? I felt it necessary though, for myself as well, to pay such an amazing individual homage.

On hearing such tragic news this week, the first words that come to our mind are - how sad, what a shame, that's terrible. But I would like to look at this - yes I agree, this very sad event - in a different light. How lucky were WE? Where would this world be, at this point in time, without Steve Jobs having existed in it? And for most of us, we got to see it all come into fruition, to experience the reformation of humanity's daily routine as we know it. For the mere 56 years we were fortunate enough to have Steve Jobs, we experienced him first hand. How lucky is that? All I can say now is, thank you. Thank you Steve Jobs, and may you be thinking up the next greatest new invention for us, from wherever you are!

Handling Stress Creatively!

We all experience it at some time or another. Like an evil villain lurking in the dark corner behind us, ready to pounce. We try to keep it at bay, but it’s so relentless that we let it consume us.

Stress.

We need to figure out how to manage stress in a way that allows us to progress with positive results so that in the end, we have accomplished the things we set out to do, are happy with ourselves, and are content with the fact that we kept that monster under control. When we feel stressed, an act as simple as trying to do nothing seems unattainable.

So, my question to you is: How do YOU handle stress in a creative way?

Perhaps even just this mere act of reaching out to one another for answers could allow us to help each other handle our stress. Just writing something down - the stress we’re feeling, the cause of our stress, or even just sharing good memories or future plans that we’re looking forward to - may help us handle the situation. We have to keep in the forefront of our minds all the good, positive actions that we experience in our day to day lives.

People find very different and creative ways to avoid and deal with stress. The trick is to be sure you take the time to do it. I just did!

Color…Simple Yet So Complex

You plan to pick a color and imagine it will just be a matter of choosing the color you want, and - done. But then you look at it and realize it may not be quite the exact shade you were looking for. So you search your options. Before you know it you are looking at ten different shades of the color green! How can that be? Isn’t green – well, green? The choices can be so frustrating and exhilarating at the same time.

You need to be sure that whatever color you are picking is the right color for what you’re trying to convey. There’s so much that goes into actually putting a set of colors together as well - whether you are trying to present an image with a balanced, peaceful look to it, or clashing and chaotic. A lot of thought needs to go into making it special, stand out.

As a child, I always thought that as long as I had enough crayons to draw a picture of a rainbow, I was set. As an adult, I know there are a multitude of colors to enjoy. The next time you go outside, on a beautiful sunny day, look up through a tree. Enjoy all the shades of green!

There's So Much Going On Around Us!

What do you do to keep yourself focused? Do you listen to your ipod? Do you close your door or window to keep out any distractions? There's so much constantly going on around us, how do we accomplish what we need/want to get done?

It's kind of a double edged sword. It is distracting at times, but other times it's nice to know that it's out there. Something to do to give our minds a break. It's just as important you know! People don't feel they have the time to socialize, or exercise....are they just excuses? Because actually, it has been proven over and over again, that if you take that 15 minute break, just to take a quick walk, or plan for that 30 minute workout, you will reap the benefits. Mentally as well as physically. Somehow, taking the time away from what you feel you HAVE to do, to spend the time on something you'd LIKE to do, does make you a more productive person. It helps recharge your battery. So when you go back to what you were doing you see it from a different perspective. Like a breath of fresh air.

So although we all need to keep ourselves focused on what may need to get done, we don't want to burn ourselves out. We need to make sure we're not forgetting to give ourselves the time to do what we enjoy as well!

Techology - Friend or Foe? You Decide!

“Time flies!” We hear that from everyone. We cram so much into our days that it's hard to keep up with it all. We need to learn to ask for – and accept – help whenever possible. In an age of high technology and fast-paced communication, you would think life would be less complicated. A phone call, a touch of a button, and done! Funny though…the more time technology saves us, the more we feel the need to fill in those rare moments of freedom with never ending to-do lists.

We need to learn how to make technology work for us. Let it do what it was developed for – to make life easier so we’re able to put more focus on what’s important in life, without constantly adding to our to-do lists. In this hectic world we've created for ourselves, it's time to remember: Time flies.

SPRINGING INTO ACTION!

With St. Patty's Day just behind us, it can only mean one thing. Spring will be here any second! You can start to feel that sense of awakening from our long, holiday hectic, winter. It's time for changes! Open the windows and let the fresh air in to start anew. Looking back to review what's been and see what we can do to move ahead into the future. Sprucing up not only our personal, but our business lives as well. It's rejuvenating to refresh every so often, not only how we see ourselves, but how others perceive, and therefore relate to us. It should be a routine part of our lives. It's a hectic world out there. We want to keep pace with what's new and exciting. The time to move into action is now! After all, we'll be busy scrambling through another holiday season soon enough.
